Overview
When Melissa Lazinski stepped into the Program Director role at the University of South Florida Physical Therapy (USF PT) Program, she brought firsthand experience from her work as Chair of the Outcomes Committee. In that role, she had seen how difficult it was to compile even a simple report when information was spread across multiple files, systems, and people.
One of her early priorities as Program Director was to create a better organizational system for the program’s most important data. The goal was not simply to collect more information, but to make curriculum, assessment, student performance, and outcomes data easier to access, interpret, and use throughout the year.
With Enflux, USF PT created a more connected approach to program evaluation and accreditation readiness. Challenge
For USF PT, the challenge was not a lack of data. The challenge was that the data lived in too many places.
Program leaders were responsible for evaluating curriculum effectiveness, student learning outcomes, program-level trends, accreditation evidence, and student progression. However, the underlying information was spread across curriculum maps, Canvas, ExamSoft, student records, survey data, and individual files owned by different people across the program.
Without a centralized view, much of the work happened manually. Data had to be collected, cleaned, and interpreted before faculty and leaders could use it. By the time the information was ready, the opportunity for timely action could be limited.
